Compliments on a great site and the fine work you are doing! Unfortunately this is the only good thing I can say about Dr Mattu's case!
I have followed the developments (or should I say: non-developments) of his case for some time now. I find it an unbelievably absolutely disgraceful example of misjudgement, mistreatment and unnecessary waste of money.
I just felt I had been silent long enough now - I guess as a foreigner there is little more one can do but to express one's disgust. How can somebody be suspended one day, and find himself still suspended almost two years later, without any charge being substantiated?
Is this not going against human rights and any democratic principle? Should this happen in some distant dictator-run country, I am sure the very same people of the Trust, and also your government, would be the first to raise their voices.
As far as I can judge, the innocent local public have been deprived of a much needed and fine heart surgeon. I can only guess the effect that such a measure has had in the past two years, even discounting the resulting waste of money.
Now there will be an investigation, by newly appointed staff - I can hardly see how they are going to risk their young careers over this case. Is this the new British definition of 'independent' or 'impartial'?
I think I have to consider myself lucky not to live in the area where the Walsgrave Trust reigns. What an appalling impression this makes on foreigners.
I wish the Reinstatement Committee all the best and sincerely hope you will reach your objective very soon. This sad show must finally be over.
Would you please forward my best wishes to Dr Mattu, and assure him there is support for him even outside of the UK.
