| Wrong AGAIN
Mr Reay In the Coventry Evening Telegraph, Mr.
Reay (Former Trust Chairman) has stated that the new
chief will not solve Trust problems. Mr.
Reay said that the poor CHI report gave an opportunity
for critics to twist the knife and force
changes in the hospital due to deep-rooted problems
within the NHS. Mr.
Reay would also have you believe that strife within the
hospital was the cause of much discontent implying that
the cause of Walsgraves problems lay with a small
number of consultants and not the way the hospital is run.
Really Mr Reay? Are you sure that your incompetence as
Trust Chairman had nothing to do with it? Of course not.
Why should Mr Reay accept that he and Mr Loughton have
damaged local health care. However,
this small number of consultants (about 100) is rather
large Mr Reay, comprising two thirds of the consultant
votes. They declared no confidence in you, David Loughton
and the senior management. They happen to include the
whistle blowers who complained about poor and dangerous
patient care eg. five patients crammed into bays designed
for four beds, over-crowding in the emergency admissions
(beds in the corridors), the Trusts persistence
with provision of care for emergency patients between two
different hospital sites (heavily criticised by The Royal
College of Physicians, CHI and the Public Enquiry Panel).
It
is unfortunate that Mr. Reay continues to claim that
senior doctors have now developed their own agenda to
oust Mr. Loughton. It is important that the people of
Coventry and Warwickshire understand that the
consultants, many of whom have long service under Mr.
Loughton have reluctantly spoken out because of failures
of patient care. Mr
Reay, you made many mistakes during your incompetent
reign as Chairman at the Trust, and the biggest were not
having removed Mr Loughton sooner and resigning earlier
than you did. |
